Huda Kattan Reclaims Huda Beauty: The Billion-Dollar Brand Is Back in Her Hands
Huda Kattan buys back minority stake from TSG, marking a powerful new chapter for the beauty mogul and her cult-favorite brand

In a power move that has the entire beauty world buzzing, Huda Kattan has officially regained full ownership of Huda Beauty. The influencer-turned-mogul has bought back the minority stake held by private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners, closing a defining chapter in the brand’s history and opening a new, completely Kattan-led future.
Founded in 2013 with a $6,000 loan, Huda Beauty was born out of Kattan’s vision to bring bold, high-impact makeup to the masses. It quickly became a household name at Sephora, Boots, and online, riding the wave of early social media virality and influencer credibility.
A Billion-Dollar Brand Built on Boldness
When TSG first bought into Huda Beauty in 2017, the brand had already cemented its status as a game-changer. That deal valued the company at an eye-watering $1.2 billion—putting Kattan in the same league as the biggest names in beauty.
But while investment helped scale the brand, it also meant sharing the reins. Now, Kattan has decided it’s time to bring the vision back under her complete leadership.
“Taking back full ownership of Huda Beauty is a deeply very important moment for me,” she said in a statement. “As we step into this new chapter, I’m more committed than ever to pushing boundaries, staying true to our roots, and showing up for our incredible community every step of the way.”

A Family-Led Future
This bold move follows another strategic shake-up earlier in the year: the sale of Kayali, the fragrance brand co-founded by Huda and her sister Mona Kattan. The sisters sold the line to global investor General Atlantic, while Mona also bought out TSG’s stake, ensuring Kayali remains a family-driven brand as well.
Together, these changes point to a clear direction: Kattan is doubling down on authenticity, independence, and keeping her creative empire in the hands of those who built it.

What’s Next for Huda Beauty?
Now that she has complete ownership again, Kattan will likely focus even more on her distinctive fusion of creativity, community, and innovation. Huda Beauty is ready for its most exciting period yet, whether it be through daring product launches, open discussions about beauty, or international growth.
And in an industry that’s constantly shifting, one thing is now certain: Huda Kattan is calling every shot.
