Faben: We ARE ART - A Journey of Spreading Universal Love

Meet the "Activist of Love" who’s using vibrant art to fight negativity and remind us that "We ARE ART." His secret weapon? A character named MRLOVE.

In a world often saturated with bad news, Faben offers a radical alternative: he is an artist and an activist, and his cause is love. For over fifteen years, this Monaco-based creator has been brightening our world with vibrant sculptures, sprawling street murals, and cutting-edge digital installations, all in an effort to foster positivity and bring people together.

Faben, the Monegasque artist and creator of MRLOVE

At the heart of his work is his enduring character, MRLOVE, a figure who gently pushes us to look inward, question our values, and grow in our awareness. We sat down with Faben to explore the philosophy behind his belief that "We ARE ART," to learn where his hopeful message began, and to see how it comes to life across his wonderfully diverse collection of work.

1. Your works are filled with themes of love and inner light. What does “universal love” mean to you, and how is it reflected in your art?

I decided to spread love through art because we are all from here, and art needs to inspire people to do good things, to love themselves, and to bring more light and more love into this world and create links between people and connections between cultures. Universal love is just understanding that we are part of this beautiful humanity, and we are all the same but different. I express it with composition, colors, and different patterns or calligraphy to connect cultures of writing.

2. You often describe yourself as an “activist of love.” How did this concept come to life, and how has it shaped your creative journey?

I'm an activist of love. It means I try to remind humanity to come back to our roots. We are full of water and we came from love, and I decided to push it through art and paint, like advertisement, but just to give good energy and question people about what the place of love in our world is. Where is the soul? And what legacy are we going to leave after us for the next generations?

3. Your famous character Mr Lover has become a symbol of your philosophy. Who is he to you — an alter ego, a symbol, or a message to the world?

Mr. Lover is the ambassador of love in this world, and through him I express many messages to catch the eyes and hearts of people and question them. In any country

where I have traveled, I include symbolism and local culture in order to impact people.

4. Tell us about the LOVE ACHIEVEMENTS exhibition in Dubai. What emotions and ideas did you want to share with the audience here, in this city?

"Love Achievement" in Dubai is a big milestone in my career. I wanted to show 20 years of career and all my studies, from drawing to big sculptures and digital hologram art, so that the audience can understand my journey and all the diversity of my 15 years of career, travel, exhibitions, and installations around the globe.

5. Your path spans 15 years of art around the world — from street murals to museum installations. How do you feel your work has evolved over time?

My work has evolved a lot with time. It all started with drawing, and now I include technology because new tools shape the story of art and the artist who uses them. Now that the young generation is highly digitalized, it is important to open a door for art by using holograms, NFTs, or creating more in art and architecture, to bring more soul to cities and to bring the best of our humanity through fine art.

6. What does art mean to you today — a form of expression, a dialogue with society, or perhaps a form of meditation and love?

For me We ARE ART! We are an art piece and heart peace, and all is art everywhere you look. Art is so important to connect humans to their real self; it's a dialogue and communication, questioning our deep emotions. When I paint, I can say it's a bit of a meditative state, creating something and letting imagination go, to create surrealism or compositions like a melody for the eyes and the heart.
