Hello, September: Dubai’s Best Plans This Week
New openings, matcha workshops, beauty finds, live music and foodie deals — here are the Dubai plans worth leaving the house for this week

September is here, and Dubai is wasting no time getting back into full event mode. New restaurants are opening their doors, seasonal activities are returning, and there are plenty of limited-time experiences worth adding to your plans.
This week’s highlights range from a new family-friendly water park and a cult London restaurant arriving in DIFC to discounted beauty shopping, live music and even a complimentary matcha class.
Here’s what to put on your radar from August 31 to September 6.
Make a splash at Dubai Hills’ new water park
A new place to cool off has arrived in Dubai Hills.
Splash ’n’ Party has opened another Dubai location, bringing with it colourful slides, splash zones, water games and a temperature-controlled swimming pool designed with younger visitors in mind.
There are food options available on site too, making it an easy option for a full family afternoon rather than just a quick swim.

Stock up on beauty favourites for less
If your makeup bag or fragrance shelf could use an update, Impulse Warehouse might be worth a visit this week.
The Al Qusais space brings together discounted beauty, skincare, perfumes, accessories and watches, with recognisable names such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci and SHEGLAM among the brands available.
It is less of a polished department-store experience and more of a treasure hunt, which is exactly the appeal if you enjoy finding premium products at reduced prices.
Open daily, 10am–11pm. Impulse Warehouse, Al Qusais Industrial Area Third.
Try one of London’s best-known Indian restaurants in DIFC
Dubai’s dining scene has another major London import.
Gymkhana Dubai is opening in DIFC, bringing the Mayfair restaurant’s take on contemporary Indian dining to the city.
The Dubai restaurant spans two levels and combines several established Gymkhana favourites with dishes created specifically for the UAE location.
Expect signatures such as kid goat methi keema, aloo chaat and tandoori masala lamb chops alongside additions including pahadi chicken chops, tomato bharta, wagyu sukka with bone marrow and rasmalai served with Emirati qishta.

Learn to make your own matcha
Instead of simply ordering another iced matcha, why not learn how to make one properly?
La Petite Ani in DIFC is running complimentary matcha masterclasses, giving guests a closer look at where matcha comes from, how different grades vary and how it should be whisked and prepared.
After the introduction, participants can make either a Classic Iced Matcha Latte or a Matcha Cloud themselves.
There is also a matcha chocolate cookie involved, which feels like an excellent reason to sign up on its own.
Spaces are first come, first served.

Take over a cinema with your friends
Movie night can now be considerably more private.
ROXY Cinemas at The Beach, JBR is offering a private screening experience for groups of up to 12 people.
You get your own cinema space, premium seating and food and drinks delivered directly to your seat while you watch.
It could work for a birthday, date night, small celebration or simply a very committed group movie night.
Dhs1,500 on weekdays and Dhs2,000 on weekends. ROXY Cinemas, The Beach, JBR.
Combine ladies’ night with a beauty treat
Ladies’ night is getting a skincare upgrade.
Son of a Fish has partnered with Drunk Elephant for a Greek-inspired evening combining dinner, free-flowing drinks and a beauty giveaway.
The Dhs210 package includes two starters, unlimited Greek fries, dessert and two hours of drinks, plus a special mixed drink created for the collaboration.
There is also a full-size Drunk Elephant O-Bloos Rosi Drops product available for eligible guests who download the MINDSET app and use the promotional code before booking.

Start September with something different
From bargain beauty shopping and unlimited Thai food to private cinema screenings and hands-on matcha classes, this week is less about one major headline event and more about having plenty of good options.
