LACMA Art+Film Gala: Mikey Madison, Andrew Garfield, Charli XCX & More
Hollywood glamour meets high art: Stars shine at LACMA’s 13th annual Art+Film Gala, honoring Simone Leigh and Baz Luhrmann
Actors, musicians and filmmakers came together Saturday at the 2024 LACMA Art+Film Gala, held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, to honor artist Simone Leigh and auteur Baz Luhrmann.
The Gucci-sponsored event, in its 13th consecutive year, featured co-chairs LACMA trustee Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The fete included reunions galore, such as that of indie darlings Charli XCX and Troye Sivan, who performed on-stage following the conclusion of their joint co-headlining Sweat Tour. Also in attendance were Anora star Mikey Madison and helmer Sean Baker. Monsters actors Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez were also pictured in front of the museum’s famed lantern sculpture.
In terms of gala fashion, Kim Kardashian debuted her recent auction purchase of Princess Diana’s fabled diamond and amethyst Attallah Cross pendant. Mainstays Law Roach and Anna Wintour were also in attendance.
Other notable stars included Viola Davis, Laura Dern (pictured alongside Andrew Garfield), Woman of the Hour director Anna Kendrick, Juror #2 star Nicholas Hoult and Lee Jung-jae of Squid Game fame.
Proceeds from the annual Art+Film Gala go toward underwriting LACMA’s initiative to make film more central to the museum’s curatorial programming, while also providing funding for exhibitions, acquisitions and education, in addition to allowing for screenings that explore the intersection of art and film.
Past honorees of the Art+Film Gala include filmmakers David Fincher, Park Chan-wook, Steven Spielberg, Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo del Toro, George Lucas, Kathryn Bigelow, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, and Clint Eastwood.
