Located on the stunning Musandam Peninsula in Oman, Six Senses Zighy Bay is your ultimate hideaway. Nestled far from the din and dust of everyday life and nestled between the dramatic mountains that rim the Gulf, this village-inspired resort offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you are staying in a private villa, one of the luxurious suites, or in a tranquil beachside retreat, each comes complete with its own pool, a traditional summer house, and an abundance of room to unwind. That's Six Senses Zighy Bay in a nutshell.

A Luxurious Stay with Endless Options - Something for Everyone

This place presents everything from dining options of local and international standards to an award-winning spa, alongside many one-of-a-kind experiences. It gives the experience of submerging one into nature, uncovering culinary explorations, and just spending time along the beach in relaxation.

Commitment to the Local Community

At Six Senses Zighy Bay, it’s not just about luxury. The resort is deeply committed to the local environment and community. Through initiatives aimed at reducing waste and protecting the oceans, the resort also supports the local Dibba community by providing education and infrastructure, particularly to Sakina Bint Al Hussein, a local girl’s school that empowers its students. This commitment is just one way Six Senses gives back while creating a positive impact on the surrounding area.

Sustainability is at the Heart of Zighy Bay

  • Living in Harmony with Nature

Sustainability is a core value that the resort lives by. It is focused on environmental care and community support, while demonstrating the rich cultural heritage of Oman. Since its establishment, Six Senses has engaged hosts, villagers, guests, and the local government in initiatives like tree planting, women's education programs, and beach cleanups.

  • Concrete Sustainability Efforts

Some of the largest key sustainability initiatives include being Plastic Free, achieving Zero Waste, conserving energy, and practicing Organic Farming. For 2023 alone, the resort saved 18.3 percent of energy and 37% of water compared to previous years. What's more, 80% of organic and glass waste gets recycled or upcycled onsite, and the resort produces its own bottled water using reverse osmosis. And that saltwater left-over is used in their pool - the largest saltwater pool in the Middle East!

  • Farm-to-Table Freshness

Local sourcing is also a priority, with chefs often seen at the Dibba fish market at dawn, ensuring the freshest ingredients are served on your plate.

  • Earth Lab: Innovation Meets Responsibility

Six Senses Zighy Bay’s Earth Lab is where innovation meets environmental responsibility. This space serves as a hub for exploring new ways to reduce environmental impact, and guests are encouraged to participate in sustainability activities. From learning about marine conservation to discovering community development efforts, there’s always something to engage in.

The resort is home to more than 5,000 trees, all irrigated with recycled grey water, and features an on-site organic garden. At Zighy Bay, farm-to-fork is more than just a concept—it’s a way of life. Expect to enjoy fresh, organic produce, cheese, and eggs during your stay.

Protecting Oman’s Marine Life

  • Environmental Responsibility

Environmental responsibility extends far beyond the land. Six Senses Zighy Bay is dedicated to creating a marine protected area around the Musandam Peninsula. Through partnerships with local communities, the resort is helping to raise awareness about sustainable fishing practices.

  • Sea Turtles & Marine Conservation

Furthermore, the resort collaborates with the Olive Ridley Project to ensure the conservancy of the Green Turtle population by removing harmful rubbish and ghost nets from the ocean. Last year alone, the team managed to remove 11 ghost nets and 1,000 kilograms of trash from the waters. Some ideas for guests to participate include snorkeling trips, going to turtle talks, or participating in beach clean-up.

  • Helping Coral Thrive Again

The most fascinating project within the resort is definitely the Coral Restoration Program. As early as 2023, Six Senses Zighy Bay launched a project that aimed to restore coral populations after a storm had degraded the reef. In collaboration with guests, locals, and environmental authorities, 522 coral fragments were replanted on the house reef. Early monitoring already shows substantial growth, and fish and other marine species can be seen returning to the reef. The ultimate goal is to be the re-establishment of a self-sustaining ecosystem via recolonization by corals that can grow to maturity, spawn, and eventually recolonize the reef.
