“Emily in Paris” Shake-Up: A Fan-Favorite Says Au Revoir Before Season 5 Begins

A familiar face won't be returning to the City of Light—and Emily’s love life is only getting more complicated from here

Hold on to your berets, Emily in Paris fans, because Season 5 is already serving drama before the cameras have even started rolling! While production gears up to begin in Rome this May, it looks like Emily’s social circle is losing one très familiar face: Camille Razat.

Camille—yes, the Camille who’s been sparring, smooching, and scheming since Season 1—is reportedly not returning for the upcoming season. Known for playing Emily’s frenemy and Gabriel’s not-so-steady flame, Razat’s absence was quietly revealed in a Tudum cast announcement from Netflix. And if you’re wondering whether this is just a fashionable French disappearing act, let’s just say… all signs point to “au revoir.”

The Cast Still Bringing the Chic

Fear not, though—our favorite marketing maven Emily, played by Lily Collins, is back and ready for more misadventures. She’ll be joined by series staples Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Ashley Park (Mindy), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie). And yes, Emily’s swoon-worthy Italian beau, Marcello—portrayed by Eugenio Franceschini—is also back for more espresso-fueled escapades.

That’s right. With the series starting off in Rome before returning to Paris, expect a whole new wave of romance, pasta, and possibly heartbreak.

Love, Work, and Michelin Stars

Season 4 left us with a cliffhanger: Emily’s now tasked with launching a Roman outpost of Agence Grateau. Meanwhile, Gabriel is chasing a Michelin star, and Marcello is stepping deeper into Emily’s world. Let’s just say, sparks are flying in more than one kitchen.

As Collins teased to Tudum, Marcello brings a fresh energy—and might just be the work/life balance Emily’s been missing. “We want Emily to be able to smile without condition,” Collins shared. Sounds like Season 5 could be her chance to do just that… as long as the drama doesn’t get in the way.

What’s Next for the Fab French Crew?

While the absence of Camille will definitely shake up the show's dynamic, it opens up fresh storytelling territory. Will the love triangle-turned-square resolve itself? Will Emily finally not mix business with pleasure? And can Gabriel get that star—and maybe a stable relationship too?

Netflix hasn’t announced a release date yet, but with filming starting in May, we’ve got our fingers crossed for a return to Parisian (and Roman) glamour soon.
