Celebrate Diwali in Dubai: A Festival of Lights Like No Other

From fireworks to cultural fairs, music, and theatre, join the city’s dazzling Diwali celebrations packed with entertainment, food, and joy for all communities from October 25th to November 7th, 2024!

Dubai is getting ready to dazzle this Festival of Lights with a packed schedule of Diwali entertainment and celebrations that will bring together all communities across the city from October 25th to November 7th, 2024. Residents and visitors can mark their calendars for immersive cultural experiences, comedy shows, musical tributes, theatre performances, free community events, and much more.

Specially curated by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the calendar of Diwali events will immerse friends and families in the spirit of the season, bringing wonder and joy to all.

A series of fireworks displays will light up the night skies this Diwali, celebrating the start of the festivities. Families and friends can watch fireworks at two of the city’s destinations: Al Seef on 25th October and Global Village on 25th-26th October and 1st-2nd November, all at 21:00.

A highlight of this year’s celebrations is Noor - Festival of Lights, hosted at Al Seef from 25th-27th October, produced by TeamWork Arts. The three-day cultural fair will feature lights, artistic expressions, interactive experiences, and performances, all set against Diwali décor and fireworks in Al Seef’s lifestyle destination. Activities include puppet processions, theatre shows, poetry recitations, musical performances, stand-up comedy, painting and design workshops, traditional Indian delicacies, and more across the 1.8-kilometre promenade.

Visitors can experience Al Seef which has a heritage souk with walkways lined up with restaurants, boutiques, and attractions.

The other culture event is Deepavali Utsav 2024 on October 26th at Etisalat Academy in Dubai. There will be funfair with games and rides for people of all age groups and Indian food stalls which roams around which helps to make the festival feels to each one. Also, it has performances of Indian folk dances.

The Global Village will host the festival from 28th October to 3rd November. Diwali will be marked with street performances on the Main Stage and fireworks. An exceptional shopping experience for Diwali awaits everyone at the Festival of Lights Market, hosted by the India Pavilion. Enjoy traditional street food at the Indian Chaat Bazaar, as well as various eateries throughout the festival period. Deep Utsav 2024 will be hosted on October 27th at Glendale International School, Oud Metha, and for the young, their minds will be engaged with games, tournaments, and activities; while the adults can enjoy the live DJ sets, Dhol Tasha drummers, and some great dance performances. Guests can feast on the cuisine and festive vendors providing all sorts of mouth-watering delicacies.

Consumers would be able to experience a little bit of Diwali shopping at the Diwali Fiesta Exhibition organized at Pullman Dubai Jumeirah Lakes Towers- Hotel & Residence, which would feature products including festive apparel, jewellery, accessories, home decor, skincare, and handmade products on 26 October.

Also on 26th October, DoubleTree by Hilton M Square will host the Diwali Edit - Fashion & Luxury Exhibition, featuring fashion designers, jewellery designers, and home decor.

Fans of comedy can look forward to Romesh Ranganathan’s return to Dubai this Diwali, with a new show at Coca-Cola Arena on 25th October. The UK stand-up comedian will bring his wit and observational humour for one night only.

Music lovers can enjoy The Unforgettables, a tribute to the late Jagjit Singh, running until 26th October at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School. Tauseef Akhtar, a disciple trained by Jagjit Singh, will perform the maestro’s greatest hits.

On October 26th, theatre aficionados can witness Meera: Echoes of Love, a production that combines dance, theatre, and music at Dubai British School in Jumeirah Park. The play, which incorporates seventy local artists, highlights women's strength and the feelings associated with love.

Also, India’s theatre thriller Ashvin Gidwani's Barff will be performed at Zabeel Theatre on 8th November. Written, directed, and performed by Saurabh Shukla, the play promises suspense and drama.
