Art & Culture Events You Can’t Miss in the UAE This Autumn

The UAE’s cultural calendar is filling up for autumn 2026, bringing together opera, photography, contemporary art, music, ballet and major international art events across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

From September performances to some of the region’s biggest November art dates, here are six events worth adding to your calendar.

The Marriage of Figaro — Dubai Opera

September 17–19 | Dubai

Dubai Opera marks its tenth-anniversary season with The Marriage of Figaro, performed by the Ukrainian National Ballet.

The production brings classical performance to the heart of Downtown Dubai and is one of the key events opening the city’s new cultural season.

Body Quotidian — Al Mureijah Square

Until September 20 | Sharjah

Body Quotidian, by Laila Majid and Inaam Zafar, brings together sculpture, photography and painting at Al Mureijah Square.

The exhibition explores the relationship between the body, materiality and contemporary image culture, making it an interesting early stop on the UAE’s autumn art calendar.

Vantage Point 13 — Sharjah Art Foundation

Until November 29 | Sharjah

Photography takes centre stage with Vantage Point 13 at Sharjah Art Foundation’s Photography Gallery in Al Manakh.

The exhibition presents six newly commissioned projects that explore different approaches to documentary photography and the ways artists use the medium to interpret the world around them.

Entry is free, and the exhibition continues throughout most of the autumn season.

Abu Dhabi Festival

October 10 – December 19 | Abu Dhabi

October shifts the cultural focus towards the capital with the 23rd edition of Abu Dhabi Festival.

Held under the theme The Wisdom of Culture, this year’s programme spans orchestral music, jazz, ballet, dance and recitals, bringing together Emirati talent and international performers across Abu Dhabi.

With events continuing into December, it is one of the most extensive cultural programmes of the UAE autumn season.

Art Here 2026: Confluences — Louvre Abu Dhabi

From November 11 | Abu Dhabi

Contemporary art takes over Louvre Abu Dhabi with Art Here 2026: Confluences.

This year’s edition brings together artists from the GCC and India and is presented alongside the Richard Mille Art Prize. The exhibition opens on November 11 and continues until February 28, 2027.

It adds another major contemporary-art moment to an already busy November in Abu Dhabi.

Frieze Abu Dhabi — Manarat Al Saadiyat

November 20–22 | Abu Dhabi

One of the most anticipated additions to the UAE cultural calendar arrives in November with the inaugural edition of Frieze Abu Dhabi.

Taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the event continues the legacy of Abu Dhabi Art under a new partnership between Frieze and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

Its arrival marks a significant new chapter for the capital’s position on the international art calendar and makes November 20–22 particularly important dates for collectors, galleries and art enthusiasts.
