Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu Mandir: A Year of Unity, Culture, and Spiritual Awakening
In just one year, Abu Dhabi’s Hindu Mandir has become a global symbol of unity, attracting over 2 million visitors and making history along the way

Abu Dhabi’s BAPS Hindu Mandir has only been open for a year, but it’s already leaving a monumental mark on the world! In addition to being a house of worship, the UAE's first-ever hand-carved stone and marble Hindu temple is a marvel of architecture, a center of culture, and a beacon of solidarity. Since its grand opening in February of last year, this magnificent temple has already had an incredible 2.2 million visits.
Over 10,000 enthusiasts assembled for a lavish, all-day party that began before the sun came up to commemorate this incredible milestone! Families, some of whom arrived as early as 4 am, honored the temple's profound spiritual importance, engaged in prayer rituals, and danced and sang.
A Stunning Marvel 5 Years in the Making
The temple took a massive Dhs350 million and five years to build, but every penny and every moment spent is clear in the temple’s beauty. With over 2,000 skilled sculptors contributing to its construction, the intricate carvings of ancient Indian scriptures adorn the temple, showcasing unparalleled craftsmanship. The sandstone facade is nothing short of a masterpiece, and it’s not hard to see why people from all walks of life are drawn to this sacred structure.
More Than Just a Temple – A Symbol of Unity
The Hindu Mandir isn’t just stunning to look at—it’s also a place that brings people together. Welcoming everyone, no matter their background, beliefs, or culture, the temple stands as a symbol of unity in today’s divided world. Its message is simple: love, peace, and respect can connect us all.
Honoring Leadership and Vision
A sincere prayer for Sheikh Mohamed was part of the festivities, recognizing his goal of creating a country based on peace and love. The captivating sounds of traditional Indian music and dancing, exquisitely paired with the temple's breathtaking surroundings, filled the air as the day came to an end.
A Global Impact for Years to Come
The essence of this imposing temple was encapsulated by Swami Brahmaviharidas, BAPS's head of foreign relations: “The BAPS Hindu Mandir has surpassed expectations in its inaugural year, attracting visitors from all over the world. It has become more than just a cultural and spiritual hub – it is a beacon of unity.”
In fact, this hallowed sanctuary has swiftly evolved into a place where people gather together, where peace and love are paramount, and where the spirit of togetherness has no bounds.
There is little doubt that the BAPS Hindu Mandir will continue to inspire millions of people and serve as an important source of harmony and understanding for many years to come.
